Another thing to try is those classic equine with the taller tops, might keep them from twisting. I have contemplated trying them. My gelding doesn't over reach too bad but his bell boots always spin and he has expensive shoes!

Slightly off topic, but I've discovered one of my horses is soring up a heel, even through his bell boots. He usually wears Weaver, Pro Equine or Professionals Choice because they are a bit taller than Classic Equine, but now I'm thinking he needs something with more padding. I had one random Pro-Tech and amazingly, it covers his heel & shoe, so I put it on the bad foot. Are there any brands besides Pro-Tech that are extra tough across the back?

You might look into the ones that Fallon has. I bought a pair . They are made different in the back. More protection and seem stronger

I use to have a pair of Bar-F bell boots with suede on the outside layer. they were the toughest pair i have ever had and lasted forever. i don't know if they make them anymore but would love to find some like that.

I really like my davis no turn bell boots. They seem like they last forever and even if the pvc on the back cracks a little they don't spin and the velcro holds up great. I've got one pair I've had for 3 or 4 years now

I still have mine from the 80s. These boots are indestructable in my opinion.

Buy some Bar-F Bells. They are thick and heavy and have a very hard outter shell.

You'll have to do some googling to find them but they are worth it. Very affordable as well.

Here is the website. Look into the No turns and No turns leather. These are the originals and are made better than the new ones. https://horseboots.com/collections/bell-boots

*UPDATE*
I tried wrapping around his front hooves with vetwrap before putting on a pair of RES bells. The vetwrap worked great! The bells did not move, he did not tear through the backs of the RES bells either....ANNNND He got his first,  1st place in the 1D!! Great day!
Thank you everyone for all your wonderful suggestions.
