Location: North of where I want to be | To say this has been an emotional roller coaster would be an understatement. The particular horse in question is also the horse I had to go get back from the boards famous horse theif. And while I am very thankful to have gotten him back, health and in good condition; I am back at square one. I was selling him because he is not going to make it as a barrel horse. A fact I stated when I had him advertised, before I knew Teresas Lynn Jones was Lynia Nicole Culp and all Hades broke loose.
I believe all things happen for a reason.I think the reason was so that the word could get out to law that she is such a huge scam. That being said I have no idea what to do. I am gun shy about selling him as its more likely I will sell him if he has internet exposure. It makes no sense whatsoever to keep one that is not suited for the things I want to do.
Any advice or insight would be nice because I am just at a loss at this point. |

Location: North of where I want to be | Honestly I would not call it a training issue. I'd call it a pain response. He cannot do the tight circles that we do in barrels. He used to be a bit more flamboyant in his reaction, but now you can feel him tense up as a he anticipates it hurting. He is a beautiful flat horse, but looses some appeal to the HUS folks due to the 2 brands. And selling him the first time was challenging as I was not selling him as a barrel horse and everyone who saw his pedigree wanted him for barrels. |

If it is a suspected pain response, I would get the issue diagnosed then go from there, as I won't sell a sore horse, I find it dishonest. |

Location: Idaho | I agree with this. OR.. you can sell him fully disclosed and take a hit. Be honest and say that the horse is sore, and you're not sure what is wrong with him. Take a gander, maybe it's hock or stifles. Maybe sell him as a good, solid trail horse. Maybe he doesn't like barrels. I have seen a couple really nice barrel bred horses (Both were Bully Bullion) and they hated barrels, and they would brace.. and do all sorts of things from getting out of chasing cans that checked out clean with the vet.
Just be honest, take a loss and sell him as is if you don't want to spend any more money finding out what the issue is.

Location: North of where I want to be | Let me clarify something. I have spent the money( almost as much as I did to buy him) to fix him and find out the issues. I fully disclosed this when I was going to sell him before. Hence why I AM NOT selling him as a barrel horse. I really like this horse. He is super sweet and mannerly. But at some point you have to have someself preservation, if for no other reason than you are now broke from trying to fix one. I have given this 1 1/2 yrs ......thats why I asked the question. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | If hes broke and not a spook I would try to find a trailriding home, are maybe a horse for someone older to just putt around on and check fences hold out on showing his papers untill someone is interested, you may have to take a loss on him. But finding a good home would be worth it to me if I had to lose some money on this horse. |
