I have never known a good trainer who would do that. I don't think it would be very economical for them either.

I know of two that did this as they were both training out of a facility that got sold. It worked for them and the owners of the horses loved it as they still had complete control over the situation.

Not all trainers have their own facility or train full time. There are a couple of decent ones in the area that will come out to you. Granted most that do this are early on in their training careers.

YOU need to check your home owners insurance. A lot them don't cover people who are hurt in a horse accidents. You have to have a clause in your policy for that. Some companies will drop you if they find out you are letting people come to your house & ride

Exercise riders may go to as many as 10 barns per day and ride
40-50 horses per day .....

The best part is knowing your horse has been ridden, or mistreated and is not
starving to death .. lol

We do all the saddling, bridling and legging the jockey up ..... other horses are ready to ride as he rides out one the next ones are ready to go.
We also do the cooling down, bathe and put on walker ..

Rider also rides the unraced young ones thru the gates coming back to the barn after 2 1/2 laps on a 5/8th mile track. On off days we stand them in the gates and crawl all over and above them as headers would ... this settles them down where there is very little excitement when it is time to break them out of the gates ...

I have been doing this for about 3 years.  Have a great rider and I have the horses at my house.  Brings her saddle and rides 2-3 head 2 or 3 times per week getting ready to sell them.  I am a horse breeder and do not ride any more.  She makes a nice extra income and I get horses ridden regularly.  Works great for us!

I would like my horses ridden someone who would come and ride.  I would sure be there to know what is done and why.  The trainer would have less employees and would be able to just ride instead of all the care that comes with someone's horse.

You go to them. They don't come to you, unless you have a nice arena to exhibition colts.

You can find nice trainers that are just starting out sometimes but for the most part good trainers settle in one place and set up shop.

Not All!  I know of really good people capable of training that do not have the facilities to do there  job, because they are good with horses they get the job done.  It may take a bit longer but do their job well.

I have seen this multiple times, reputable is up for interpretation but I have seen more of them come, saddle, walk or trot around for 10 min and leave.

Thanks for all the replies. I have found a trainer to come out so I will see how it goes. When I saw barrelhorseusa's response, I figured I was on the right track. I think he has been doing this for a while...
