Equipride -What's with all the hype lately?

I am in North Texas. It's no secret Equipride has been around for well, a long while. Why all of a sudden is everyone wanting to feed it to their horses? I've seen the demand here spike dramtically.
What's with all the hype all of a sudden? Is it just because Winter is coming? Anyone use it? What's it good for? I don't know a single person who uses it, but it seems lately that all the stores i've been in have huge displays of it at the front door. Why choose it over something like Renew Gold?
(I feed Renew Gold and won't be switching, but curiosity and boredom has me intrigued.

I use it for a loose mineral supplement as I can't get Renew Gold. To me for the price, you can't beat it. It lasts me for 3 horses a long time like maybe 8 months or more.

Equipride is a very good supplement. Makes a horse feel good without making them hot, even calms them some. I have fed it for years. I have one horse tha will not eat itso I decided to try Platinum. I think they are comparable but picky man eats the Platinum.

I bought some to try in a grain mix I am making and don't really like it that well. I changed it out to a different one for my mix. It used distillers grains and I just stay away from that, no reason other than I don't like to use byproducts as a horse supplement. I know several people who really like it though.

Equipride is a distillers grain and vitamin/mineral supplement. It really isn't a feed at all. I have used it in the past and I feel it's a good product. I don't use it long term, but rather if one needs a boost to get their digestive system back. I am not a fan of DDG.
I think equipride is expensive and the gain is minimal with long term use. Just my opinion. If you have a horse that is skinny and hadn't had good nutrition, I do recommend it over 2-3 months, along with a good nutrition program. I don't like vitamin/mineral supplements on top of already heavy fortified grains though.
