Can somebody tell me if it is worth/safe to feed? It is the only form of oat hay available where I live. All the feed stores carry it and it is affordable. I was looking for a hay to feed along with alfalfa. I have fed pure oat hay but never barley/wheat and have tried looking up facts on it but not really finding what I want. Is their nutritional value to it? Thanks!

We call that forage blend out here in CA.. Its ok.. they keep good weight on it but they seem to waste a lot of it as well.

That is where I am. Thank you! I finally found some info on it. There is a $7 dollar difference where I live right now between the forage and alfalfa.

Its what I feed because grass hay is crazy expensive when you can find good clean bales and my little mare can't have alfalfa because of her kidneys. The key is to find it cut at the right stage, where it still has a nice green color when you break a bale open.
