Vet is coming out but I was hoping anyone could give me advice or opinions on my situation.
I have a 4 yr OTTQH mare on track to futurity this spring. She is a great mare to be around, NOT HEAD SHY, she has been treated for ulcers and is on maintenance Omeprezole now and will continue to be.
She had her teeth power floated 2 months ago but is still dropping lots of grain and is funny about bits. No mean but is fairly picky. I have a chain mouthpiece on order to try on her.
The other weird thing is she "clacks" her teeth together at the end of a good work out. From what I have heard its just her being very relaxed but I am not sure I buy it. The other weird thing is fairly hard to explain but if I take her nose and move her head left and right you can hear her jaw and teeth bang together. Anyone had this before? Does it sound like TMJ? Should I get a different opinion on her teeth?
