Location: PA | Is it really worth it to enroll your foal in Future Fortunes? There aren't that many shows around here that even are a part of it. Just wondering if I should spend the money and enroll my weanling before 12/1 or just forget it. |

Location: PA | Yes I am the breeder. As of right now I do not plan on selling, but you know how that goes!
I just wish FF had more shows around here...would be an easier decision. There aren't any in my state. |

I would DEFINITELY enroll as a weanling for the cheaper fee. We don't have many FF races here, either, but the money is great for the few that are within a couple hundred miles. Plus it's such a great incentive if you ever consider selling. I'd do it! I didn't enroll mine and he's 2 now, so it's just too expensive. Big regret on my behalf! :( |

Location: You never know where I will show up...... | Yes, it definitely is. It has paid back very well for us this year. I pay in everything that I raise that is eligible. It is only $150 as a weanling and they are paid in full for life.
If I buy something that is eligible I pay it in also. I bought 2 Tres Seis yearlings in September, it'll cost me $250 each to pay them in but I am going to do it because I plan to sell one and keep one. It will help with the sale value on the one, and since I plan to run whichever one I end up keeping, she'll probably win it back.
Our futurity horse this year has won a lot of FF$$ both at Futurity events & events with Open FF payout. She won $510 alone for placing in the 1D at the Open Barrel Bash in Lincoln. And there were a couple futurities she got some big FF checks in too, in addition to the regular futurity purse money.

But if you don't pay an eligible horse in when they are babies, you sure won't want to when they are 3. I just got a message from some people who bought a baby from me 3 years ago. They wanted to get him into the FF but didn't act until now. If I would have been in FF before they bought him, I would have nominated him when he was a baby. They didn't grandfather him in when I got in even though I tried to let EVERYONE know with a private message and a posting on my stallions facebook page. It will now cost $2500 to get him paid in full. If they only would have paid the $200.
My advice is to nominate your foal now. It's $50 and you have more time to think about it without being shut out. Then if you sell him in 2 or 3 years he's still eligible for the program. It's a good selling point when you live where they have races and to people who want FF horses. |

Location: PA | Thank you everyone. I will enroll her. Hopefully by the time she's of running age, life will have settled down and I can travel to some of these FF races around me! |

By the time she is of running age, you may have some more closer to you. I looked at the Future Fortunes website just this week and noticed that they have expanded shows a lot for 2017. There has never been any in Missouri, but there will be one in 2017.
I'm with others and would go ahead and enroll her. |

| Possibly a goofy questions. I have a 2 year old that is listed under nominated. Do I have to do anything now that I have him or is he good for life? |

You can contact FF and update their listed owner (you), if he's not already in your name. I'm pretty sure that's free and you just need to send a copy of the papers in your name. Once they are PIF, they're good for life! |

| Why aren't there more FF races? Is it expensive or hard to put one on? There was one random one by me once at a smaller race but now I only see big races usually have them and can't find anything on their website about being a producer |

| Go to FF and find the sire of your horse ...
click on his babies and you will see whether they are PIF or just hanging
there nominated but not paid in full ..
Then find out how much it is going to cost to get it paid in full ..
The $50 payment plan for weanlings has been discontinued ...
