I haven't been on much sense having my son, but if you have trouble getting a feed in your area, like Renew Gold, check Amazon prime. I've been driving 45 minutes one way to purchase my feed (RG) and on a whim decided to see if I could get it through Amazon. AND I CAN...and it's PRIME!!! $38 shipped to my house in a2-3 days for free.

Sorry if this is old new I was just dumb founded and thrilled at the same time. Ordering horse feed online. ????

Interesting..........never thought about feed on something like Amazon. Do they have a limit on how much you can order through them?  What are the shipping and handling charges?

I was ordering Tribute feed through Amazon and so was another friend. I would order 5 bags or so at a time no problems and the price was close to what I paid for grain here. We don' t have Tribute here and now I don't feed it anymore but it was handy .

I used to do this with a mare I used to have. I had over an hour drive to the store to get RG, my closest farm store refused to special order it for me even though they were listed as a dealer. So I looked one day out of curiosity, and that's how I got RG for almost 2 years. Never had any issues in that time.

Don't you have to pay to use Amazon Prime?  I thought it was a membership type thing for $11 a month?

I think it's like $60/year.  I recently started using Prime Pantry because I live in the boonies, and I think I save about $60 each MONTH!  Last month, I bought cat and dog food through Amazon Prime pantry.  A 6 pound bag of Nutros Max cat food costs me $16 locally.  On Prime Pantry, I could buy 3 pound bags for less than $3!  A 15# bag of Nutros dog food costs $15.  I found the pet food by accident, but you can bet I'll be looking for the big bags now!!!

I have Amazon Prime so I can stream...the shipping is just a bonus to me.  I think it's like $100 a year?  It might be a little more but well worth it to me!

Prime is $99.  I usually price compare on everything and if it's cheaper on Amazon, I'll buy it there.  $99 in shipping costs adds up QUICK, so it's worth it.  Plus you get free books, free movies, and other stuff along with the free 2 day shipping.

I looked at my horse feed, but it was more expensive on there, even with the free shipping.

Thats cool, but the feed you get is it fresh I would be worried about getting old feed and if you got bad feed is it going to be simply to send it back?

Not all items are sitting in the warehouse and shipped by Amazon....many ship directly from the seller of the item. They just "sell" through Amazon.

Aww ok, I dont do much buying over the internet, so this was my first thought about buying feed. The feed store I get my feed from is always fresh, but heard so much about buying bad/spoiled feed on here from others that would be someting I would be really worried about. LOL..

We have amazon prime and that is where I get a lot of stuff for my horse. We also get lots of other stuff. Prime is 99$ a year, but we have friends and family on our prime list. Around 10 people use it and have their addresses and financial info on it. So they kick in when the prime account is due. It's very convenient and everyone is a fan. I did not know they sold tribute, must look into that.

I didn't know you could get feed from Amazon! We already have a prime acct, and my Discover IT card gets 5% cash back on Amazon right now, but I looked and it's $10 more than I pay now, just 18 miles away :( Bummer.

I looked into it. The tribute was over $40 a bag and we get it for $16. I guess I will stick with that.
