I'm interested in buying the 9 inch hack but I really can't find any reviews on it. Who's used it on here and what were your thoughts on it?

These were very popular 40 years ago before barrel racers learned that barrel horses really needed to be good and broke before starting on barrels. As we started getting them broke and flexing well most people learned that less is more. A horse that is the good and broke should not need a 9 inch shank.

Once up at Josey's I was waiting for everyone to get in the trophy room for a meeting. I leaned my head back against the wall an there was a bridle hanging behind me. It had some 9 inch looonnnng shanks and I had to laugh because I rode with that same bit. That was all we had way back when.

It is essential that you have your horse in complete control every step in a run. Get your horse supple with something like a Jr cowhorse or an ED Wright short shank. You won't need anything stronger.
