Location: Sunny California | I've been trailer shopping and have been looking at these two brands. I was just able to look at a new 2017 Elite in person for the first time. Wow! I've never seen a trailer as heavy duty as the one I looked at. I loved everything about it, but there are two issues I have. 1) the Elites are about $7,000 more than the Platinums I have priced out. 2) I have not been able to actually look at a Platinum in person as there aren't any even close to me. So, those of you that have seen both in the newer models, how do they compare structurally and are Platinums as heavy duty as the Elites? |

Location: Northwest | I haven't seen the brand new ones but I have had both and I am equally pleased with both. I'd say go with whichever fits in your budget better and if price isn't an issue than maybe go with an Elite because I think resale is a smidge bit better (at least where I live). |

Location: Heart of Texas | we pull an elite both there is little difference bewtween the two; ours is a few years old now but we have been pleased with the way it pulls abd how the horses travel in it.
We did a lot of comparing and feel the elite has a better design and is beefed up where needed. Keep in mind that this time of year prices are negotiable as inventory isnt exactly flying off the trailer yards. We bought in a cold climate in late January and dealer threw in a bunch of extra stuff and what he charged for was at cost. Flet like we got a really good deal and when we picked it up the dealer said it was only 1 of three sales thst month; he needed to sell somethng to cover his operating costs.

| Caught yawl on here has an Elite that they actually lived in for a couple of years. (Family of four--teenage kids). They have pulled that thing loaded everywhere. Her dad told me to get an Elite when I bought mine because he had never had anything done to theirs. I think theirs is about a 2003 maybe. Mine is a 2005. I just had new brakes and wheel bearings.packed and that is all. A woman hit my trailer in the rear of the fender and it demolished her car but scraped my trailer.
My trainer has a Platinium. (2006) It gets pulled MANY MILES every week. Other than a place where it got hit by an 18 wheeler, I don't think she has had anything done to it other than maintenance.
I do think that both trailers are very comparable in quality.
All three of use get our trailers acidized yearly. |

Location: Up North | I looked at every brand out there for 3 years and narrowed mine down to 3-Elite, Platinum, and 4 Star. I went with Platinum. I received excellent customer service, the quality of the finished product was excellent, and they answered all my questions (I had thousands!). I bought new with a LQ shell and I talked to Platinum directly about my future layout and Jill was extremely helpful and tossed around ideas with me, I love my trailer. |

Location: Bandera, TX | I've pulled both. I put Elite #1 then Platinum. The Elite pulls a bit heavier but when your on rough ranch roads the Elite just outshines the other brands. Our LQ is old one of the first they built, It's solid and has been all over the USA, into Canada and Mexico on the rodeo trail. My little four horse bumper pull is my right hand. Our 30' cattle trailer has been tested to the gills. We have hair pin turns to get cattle to market. It's set correct on its axels and the cattle have low stress on their trip to town. |
