I recently bought a now 8 month old colt and wormed him with safeguard when I bought him and he acquired this lump under his jaw, however this was when we turned him out with the other horses so I thought maybe someone bumped him. I just wormed him with strongid the other day and this huge lump appears on the same side of his jaw. He is eating and drinking well, but it is hard and painful to the touch....anyone have an experience with this? I am calling the vet this morning! Just wanted some opinions Thank you!

It could be anything from a spider bite to strangles to a tooth. Some kind of guttaral pouch infection.
