My new 3 year old is a little small. Could just be genetics but what is the best feed program to really maximize growth potential on a 3 year old ? I would assume something like ultium growth is for weanling up to age 2? Thanks!!'n

TOTAL EQUINE- have rescued a couple horses and feed is safe enough to just open a bag and give it to them. I have pictures if youd like to see. great for any horse young and small. had great results.

Alfalfa, oats or barley, mineral and some sort of oil.  In a flax seed or actual oil, or rice bran.  I feed free choice grass hay.  Grain is barley/oat mix, alfalfa pellets and straight coconut oil.  Only like 1/2 to 1 cup of oil though.  I also have free choice salt and mix in mineral in their grain.

If you wanna see progression take pics overy 2 weeks.  Or you may never think they are growing haha.

Thanks! What amount of the oat/RB mix should I work up to? My feed store does carry a " Growth feed" with quite a few of those ingredients.

What ever your feed already.

The horse will require no special feed different from any other horse. I would feed the same as you do your others.

I work up to 3 lbs of oats and barely. 3-5 lbs of alfalfa depending on work load.

I like this answer.  I'd want the horse to grow naturally as his bloodlines intended.  We used to raise colts and ours didn't mature until they were 6-7.
