I wouldn't be turned off by one. Up here in Montana, a lot of the really neat old timey horse brands are jaw brands. Usually the jaw brands are neat and clean, I've also have seen some really cool OLD caricature brands on cheeks.

I posted mine but here it is again. It doesn't show as well on this horse now as she has lightened with age but it does look nice on the darker horses.

I don't mind them. I saw a horse with a really nice and simple one and it didn't look any different than any other brand on a horse.
