| Anyone that uses the 5 star tress pad, or the self contouring ones, do you ever got pressure ridges along the spine where the edge of the hole is? |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | What width are you using? I only ue a 3/4" pad. My saddle fits fine and I have no problems. Anything larger I feel compensates for an ill fitting saddle. Too thick of a pad will make a saddle fit tight. |

| I don't have a five star. I was asking before I went out and bought one. Wool/felt pads are the only thing I can seem to get to work with my one horse and my treeless. I cut out the center of an old pad just to see if it would work and get enough spine clearance. I got pressure ridges from that on my one gelding, its a pretty beat up 3/4" classic equine.

Location: The best kept secret in TX | Five star IMO is the best of the best. Wool is a natural fiber. It is naturally going to be moisture wicking as well as a natural shock absorber. When riding a Five Star you will notice dry spots on your horses back. Don't fret. Wool wicks away moisture from the horses back so dry spots are perfectly normal with a 100% wool pad. (This is why many people wear wool socks. They wick away moisture.) Contured pads are what I ride. I would suggest a 5Star pad for a treeless over many others simply because it's a natural material. I would also suggest leaving the knives in the kitchen rather than on your pad collection...

| Lol yes. I just didn't want to buy something expensive if I didn't have any idea it it would work. This poor pad has been cut up before anyways, its 5" shorter than it used to be lol.
I have had a 5 star before, but for a regular treed saddle, so know the quality why I was thinking of getting the treeless one. I sold the pad with the saddle, so don't have it anymore.
I was hoping for something around 3/4" or even thinner so I can use my thinline pad too, but looks like 5 star only makes 7/8" and 1" treeless pads. |

yes, the treeless comes standard only in 7/8 & 1" BUT we can order 3/4" also. (would have to check to see if they are charging any extra on it since it's not their standard). It's pretty hard to do an accurate "test" cutting on a different pad - it won't have the same pressure relief that the treeless pads do. If you need any help, I'd be glad to help you! |

| Are you a dealer Rocky Road? Is it possible to get the self contouring pads in a shorter length? I had actually wanted that pad with the 32" drop, but the 32 length would be too long. This is actually for my treeless trail saddle, not a bob marshall so I don't really need the long flap in the front |

| After seeing this picture I don't think a 5 star is going to work for me. I don't like how close the center comes together

I dont care much for the open spine either, I use the 5 star trail pad with my BM, I like how they are made for a droped rigging and you can get any thickness you want with these. I'll find a picture of one..

| ^ That is the version I had for my record breaker. You don't have any problems with it with your treeless and not having spine clearance? |

I use a 3/4 pad with my treeless and it sits flush to my horses back, I tent the pad up in the front but every where else it sits flush I dont worry about clearance since its a treeless.. |

Location: NW MT | The pad style posted above is what most treeless users used to always buy, until the open spine ones became an option. I do know they are talking about a new treeless design also, and hopefully will hear about that soon. As far as the open channel being too close together, they will "spread" as your saddle is set on & cinched up. |

I once heard the open spine design is not good for high withered horses. Is that true? |

I do the same and I've had no issues. |
