We are getting married in June.  We have been together for 8 years and have accumulated everything we need. Everyone is very excited for us to finally tie the knot and there will be people that will want to get us something or do something for us even if we point blank tell them not to.

What some things we can suggest for people to do besides get us a gift??  We will not be registering anywhere so that will not be on the invitation.

A 'Honey-fund' ! Basically people chip in a little money for your honeymoon in lieu of a gift. I know there are websites where you can set one up.

You could ask people to make a donation to a charity that means something special to you both in lieu of gifts.  We did that with St Jude since my husband is a childhood cancer survivor and they saved his life.

Monetary donations to charities that you love. Or, bring 'gifts' that could be donated to your favorite charities: toys for kids, coats/clothing for homeless, pet food/supplies for animal shelters, etc.
And congrulations!!

Congratulations!   How refreshing to not ask for gifts when they are not needed.  That said, close friends may still want to do something for you-a party, dinner, etc.   I would let them, they want to be part of the celebration, it does not have to involve gifts.  I would just say no gifts on any invitations to any functions.

This! I'm also engaged and we're wedding planning. Does anyone know which websites do this? We live together and are blessed with everything we need . :-)

Set up a fund so they could pay for specific parts of a honeymoon.

We just put on our invites, "No gifts please! We've got this!"

Some people still brought lovely cards with some cash or a check in them. We put it together for some really nice art for our house. :)

We put a note in our invitations as well, can't remember the exact wording (found it when googling).  It pretty much said that gifts weren't necessary, however we were saving up to buy a home.

We sat up a honeymoon fund through "Honey Fund" the website. We set up a donation station with a bank in town with branches all over, and we also sat up a registry that had maybe 5 things on it. I wanted an actual pot and pan set (Mine are all mismatched from Goodwill and are nice but were very worn.) And I also asked for new towels, new silverware, and a griddle and waffle iron. (Those things I also had bought used from Goodwill, sans towels, and were either no longer working or had been patched too many times to count. I received every gift on my registry plus some. I think we got about $50 on our honey fund account and set up a jar at the wedding and got another $100. No one donated to charity.
Looking back I wish we would have told only family about the registry and friends about the donation and informed everyone about the honeymoon fund jar at the wedding. The honey fund account was a waste of time.  Most people don't bring cash so we should've have put a little note about the jar in the invite somewhere I think.
