| My fiancΓ© and I are looking into going to Europe for our honeymoon in June. We have 10 days. Anyone ever been? Which countries to go to, which ones to miss. Fun things to do on the way, I feel like we'll get bored just sightseeing so some activities would be great. He loves fishing so I'd love to book that for a day if possible. I know nothing so anything would be helpful!
Thanks a bunch!! |

Scandinavia is gorgeous and has some good fishing. The UK has a lot of history, I would love to go there one time, lots of hiking and fishing there I hear. Germany and France are great countries to visit, lots of things to do there and very divers also, from mountains to flat country. Austria, Switzerland have lots of mountains, and are great if you like to hike. If you are more into sunshine Spain, Portugal, Italy and Greece are a good bet. Also, it's been years when I went there (before the war, when it was still Yugoslavia) but Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia Herzegovina are gorgeous! My parents went on a river cruise through Chechia and Hungary and loved every minute of it.

| If you like history and old stuff I would say go to Europe. If you want to fish I would say go to San Antonio for about 5 days and then on to the Texas Coast for deep sea fishing. Everyone that I know that went to SanAntonio just stayed. You can go on to Galveston and stay on the beach and go fishing. Heck, the whole 10 days in Galveston would be nice. I have friends and relatives that post pictures of the nice fish they catch on the Texas coast. They have them packed in dry ice and bring them home. You know that Texas is a WHOLE OTHER COUNTRY, anyway. laughing. With all the violence in Europe right now there is no way I would go and yes, I have been to Europe several times. |

Fly into Rome. Stay in an old hotel near the Vatican. Visit the Colluseum and the Vatican. The Sistine Chapel will blow you away.
After two days, head up to Florence and spend a couple days there.
The ancient architecture and art is awe inspiring. It's a beautiful city.
From there, head up the coast along the Italian Riviera to a fishing village called Camogli. It's built into a coastal mountainside, and you can get a taste of life in an Italian fishing village. Your hubby can book a fishing excursion from there. Look it up. From there, scoot over to the French Riviera and I'd recommend a day or two in Cannes. It will give you a nice touch of France. From there I'd go back to Italy and spend a day or two in Venice. You should get reservations on a sleeping car and make the trip overnight. As newlyweds, no honeymoon to Italy would be complete without a visit to that unique city and a gondola ride. From there, back to Rome and then home.
Wherever you go, you will always have great food.
Don't spread yourselves too thin with an ambitious schedule. This will give you a taste of everything in two countries.
ETA: June isn't far off. You'd better get cracking and make reservations. Great month to visit Europe!

This is good advice.
I could also spend an extended amount of time in the South of France |

This will make a vey nice trip! I agree, that you better book this very soon. Also, in general I would just pick one country, maximum two. There is so much to do and see. |

Location: Bastrop, Texas | I forgot to mention something else. I threw that fishing excursion from Camogli in there because you said your fiancΓ©e wants to fish.
Use that Camogli fishing excursion as an enticement just to get him to go along with this itinerary. The truth be told, you can probably have more fun fishing out of Port A or somewhere out in the Gulf. But then, he's a guy. You have to do your wifely duty and satisfy his ego as well as his loins.
Let him fish for a day. It will keep the lead in his pencil. |
