Location: Central Texas | I live in TX and have had this mare since October. For the past couple months (since it has started to warm up) she has had a cough when I first start riding her. Shes great walking, but as soon as i ask for a trot she coughs probably 10 times and then works out of it fine. I have been giving her "Air Power" every morning (20cc) and its helped a little but not a lot. I did a pre-purchase when i bought her but wondering if I should take her in and get her scoped? Or if this is an allergy thing, does anyone recommend anything to help her? I hate that she has to work out of it everytime I ride lately. Want to add she doesn't have any nose or eye drainage, and no fever. The only thing I've tried so far is the Air Power. |

| Curost total support works wonders for horses just like that! Horse might just have an allergy to something at your place that wasnt at the last one. |

Location: Texas | I battled that cough forever thinking it was allergies (trying herbal supplements, etc.) Finally got the vet out, ran a blood test, it showed infection; Treated with antibiotics for 2 wks (in Feb). Cough was gone (3/1). I did notice that mine coughed again last night when warming up, so ?idk. I will keep an eye on it, and contact the vet if it seems chronic. I wasted a sum of $ trying to figure it out myself. Wish I had gone to the vet sooner. |

Location: Oklahoma | Could be a weak flapper (in the throat). I have a horse who coughs when I warm him up. He really does it when its dry and dusty. If its a major problem, they can do surgery. I have done breathing treatments on him and its working. He still coughs but not as bad.

| I do have an unopened bag of Curost total support that I won't be using if you would like to try it, or if anyone is needing one. I sold the horse couple weeks ago that I used it on. Oh yea! It doesn't affect him at all. When I took him they scoped him and poured water on the flapper, that how the new he had a weak one. It didn't close as fast as the other one. He really only coughs if its dry and dusty, the vet told me I would be the lady with the horse that coughs. |

Location: CTX | Mine does that too (not as much, maybe 2-3 times warming up) but always warms up out of it. Had him scoped last year right after we ran and no blood. So vet says allergies. I hade him on the Cur Ost total support for 5 months and did not see any difference, so I took him off of it again.
I started him on airpower a couple of days ago so maybe that will help.

My horse went from having mild seasonal allergies to full blown COPD and respiratory distress in a matter of about 3 months. I spent thousands of dollars at vets, medications, and my horse continued to deteriorate to the point he could no longer take a deep enough breath to cough, even on 10cc of Ventipulmin. I had nothing to lose and was facing losing my horse, so I took a leap of faith and stopped all medication cold turkey and changed my complete program (feed, hay, everything) and had a new horse in 90 days.
He got a flake of alfalfa twice a day, a pound of oats to mix his Cur-Ost in and that's it. Nothing else. Results are below.
