Location: Running barrels or watching nascar | So far, I've seen improvements. My anxious green horse used to wiggle or 'carousel' around me when saddling or getting on. It has also cut back on the boogers. She's actually less nervous than I am. I'd like to get one on my other horse for her gate antics but I also don't want to take away her speed. |

| i have one- still not convinced it has done anything for my mare. Definately didnt help my gelding out in any way. they are not cribbers or anything like that. mare is high strung.. gelding will pace in stall occasionally |

| Sounds like a gimmick to me. See a lot of them for sale on Facebook that were only used once. |

What group are you seeing them posted for sale in? I have a medium and though I can't explain it, my goofball is coming in the gate flat footed and focused with the mask on. I rode him at home without it a few days and couldn't even sit in front of the barrel pattern. Put the mask on the next day and he will stand facing the pattern for several minutes, flat footed. Again, I have NO idea why or how it works, but if all I have to do is put a mask on him to have a focused horse who's paying attention, I'm going to have masks in every color for him. LOL. |

I've noticed a bunch on Barrel Racing Tack/Horse Swap. They usually sell in less than an hour or so. I've been keeping an eye on them in case I decide to sell my two in the future... |

| My mare never stands for the farrier in general and my farrier used her as a demo horse at a clinic and she stood relaxed for 2 hours with the mask, stood at the farrier all day, and walked flat footed in the gate. Well worth the money in my opinion. |

| Something that I learned is if they are not the correct size they do not work properly. If they are too tight or too lose. My filly is completely different in a Med, I mean its noticible to anyone that has evern been around her that it makes a difference. She is kind of on the size bubble so when someone post a really cool arrow print one on FB in Small I bought it thinking it would work, nope. I could get it on her, that wasnt the issue, it was tighter though and it sure did not have the same effect. Ive gone back to the plan ol boring red one that fits and works. ( I have a cool small arrow print if anyone needs a size small) |

I sent them a pic of my horse's head and they were able to recommend the correct size. |

Location: North Dakota | I have seen these masks work wonders on some horses. It really depends on the horse and their issue. I consider them to be similar to a Thundershirt for a dog. It gives them a comforting and calming effect. I purchased one last year because I have a mare with a tooth root/sinus issue. She may need surgery if it bothers her again so I figured the compression would help with her recovery or comfort if/when it starts to flare up again. Compression is scientifically proven to be beneficial. I have not used it at a barrel race but I have rode with it on once or twice at home. Didn't notice a difference at home but my horse is fine at home. I do have a gelding that gets stressed when stalled away from home for the first couple times in the spring so I will be trying it out on him this weekend as we take our first weekend away from home. He normally will pace and scream for his buddies (always this way after a long vacation for him...he is a huge baby). If this thing helps at all I will be sure to report back! |
