| In 60 plus years in the horse world I have never heard the term GRASS GLANDS. So what are they? |

| My gelding gets them frequently. I give him benadryl per my vet. They don't get as big as these pics though. Usually disappear over night. Once spring is over no more new weeds/grasses and he's fine. |

Location: Adopt a homeless pet - www.petfinder.com! | Never heard the term Grass Glands either! The pics look like an allergic reaction, which I have seen before and the vet attributed to some sort of weed and it resolved quickly and without complication. A quick google search glance makes it sounds like it's the salivary glands swelling, or reacting, to something. |

Location: Fort Worth / Springtown | I actually googled and found out about it, earlier this year. One gelding I have seemed swollen on both sides, though not as bad as the pictures you posted. He seemed normal, otherwise. It went away in a couple/few of days. I've read sometimes their may be a certain weed that you need to get rid of in your pasture...Maybe just a certain time of year. I almost remember him doing this before - maybe same time, last year?
If it hadn't have gone away or looked like the OP pics, I would have found out/done more. I just added the ACV to his water that I had slacked off of in the previous couple of weeks. |
