Gelding was treated for ulcers February, where his diet was completely changed no processed feeds.

Just wondering if if this is something normal for horses or not. (Before moving to our new 100 acre full of grass they were on dry lots with round bales so I'm just not 100% familiar with having actual grass!!!)

my gelding ismt really eating his hay...
i keep big slow feeders full and leave them hanging and he just isn't eating like I naturally think he should. It's good Timothy hay, or Alfalfa/orchard hay.

Then again, he has a run out and the hay bag is in his stall and he normally not there because he can't see all his buddies.. could that just be it?
Eating his grain fine! He looks great... just know with the Renew gold I was under the impression free choice GREAT forage and well it's free choice and he'd rather eat grass in the pasture.

Would you rather eat a fresh chip or a stale one?

He's eating so you've got nothing to worry about.

Every horse I've ever had would choose green grass over hay. It's their natural food and if the grass is good, it's much better for them anyway. I consider that normal behavior.

So your saying he has full turnout on a 100 acres of grass pasture, but your keeping his hay bags full, if he is on full turnout hes going to be eating green grass over eating hay in a slow feeder anytime hes got the chance.. Do away with the slow feeder hay bags use the normal ones he may like that better, but he sounds like a normal horse he would rather have green grass over hay so in my books hes just being normal
