After about a 8 months of fighting mysterious right side hind end "lameness" we tested for EPM and my gelding has a moderate case. For financial reasons, I chose the Rebalance for 90 days, which my vet said the meds in it are still the gold standard for treating. He's also on a vitamin E/selenium supplement.
After talking to a couple of people I have a lot hope he can still be used as a barrel horse, his symptoms were mild but now I can see the totality of it all looking back.

I'd love to hear some success stories. Thank you!

I have had fabulous luck with rebalance!!! I also feed ALCAR from animal Element anytime we treat one. Check it out, it's not expensive, but I've honestly seen the difference with and without it. Good luck!!

I have had good success with Rebalance also. Do you have barn cats?

The vet and I were discussing horses getting EPM from barn cats peeing and pooping in the hay. I know mine probably gets it from possums as I have an abundance of them. My horse seems to get re infected

Hmmmmmm interesting. It's my understanding that they never are completely rid of it. They will always test positive.
