We attended our first BBR Finals this year and had a blast even with the crazy weather. I thought it would be neat to have a thread with advice and tips for next year while everything is still fresh on our minds.

I did a lot of research before I went this year and I feel like it saved me a lot of time and money by being prepared.

I'd love to hear your advice and opinions.

in addition to the incentives already offered, I'd like to see incentives for the Future Fortunes horses.

We got to the fairgrounds at 11:30 on Tuesday night. There were rigs everywhere. What is your advice on arrival?

Is it better to come late Tuesday night or Wednesday sometime?

We had a 6 hour drive with 2 kids 3 years old and under and I was first up on Thursday morning so we came up Tuesday to give ourselves time to recover and rest some on Wednesday.

We got to the fair grounds around 2.30pm on Wednesday, and it actually wasn't too bad. The lady at the gate told us she would send someone with a golf cart to help unload, but we never saw anybody. Which was fine, we had most everything handy. I got one of those big rolling toolboxes that we put all our small stuff in, like boots, wraps, headstalls and so on.
We also have a hand cart that we put the hay on. So we only had to make a couple of trips to our tack stall. We goofed and didn't call for shavings before hand, but when we did call they had them out to our stalls within 10 minutes, so no problem. We did get the rest assured pads and they were in the stalls as promissed before we arrived.
After unloading we parked the trailer and got in line to check in the horses. Which took maybe 30 minutes.
Honestly the only thing we really had to stand in line for were the jackets. We got there before 2pm and had probably 35-40 people in front of us. But once they started around 3pm it went fairly quick.
We did get a hotel room, and hearing the wind that Friday night I am glad we did. Can't imagine being in a trailer in that weather... I have heard of straight line winds, but never been in them...
And the worst of the whole weekend was the drive through Ft Worth! So next time if we are going I am finding an alternate route, even if that means driving a bit longer.....
All in all it was a great weekend, and I am glad we got to experience it.

Considering that BBR has its own stallion incentive program, I doubt that they will ever have FUTURE FORTUNES

Considering the history between owner of Future Fortunes and some of the BBR founding organizations, I am certain it is NOT going to happen.
