Not to be insulting. I am just curious. Why would they build that much of a town in that much of a flood prone area. Have they changed the landscape to cause this.

I have no idea....However, most of this damage is caused by the failures of the levee protecting that part of town, which also failed in 2011. Before that time, I believe, that flooding was not bad
(just backwater in low places
). WHY they didn't fix THAT problem
(after the 2011 flood
) is beyond my imagination..... We moved here in 2008.

Thanks.....water is receding slowly and some roads have opened up. We could get west and north yesterday. If the roads don't open to the south, I will have to drive lots
(50+
) MORE miles to get John to his VA "consultation appointment" with an Orthopedic Surgeon on Tuesday. I had to cancel last week's appt and he has waited 3 months for this appt.

Oh no---I know how frustrating that is because we've been trying to get Daddy's valve surgery done for over a month or more. And "things" just keep happening. Prayers that the water goes down and y'all get to that appointment and lined out.
