Location: Texas | Does anyone have suggestions of any product or supplement to use for a horse that has thin soles? He is getting pour in pads right now on the front but they don't stay in that well. I would like to thicken the soles (if possible) to be able to do away with the pads.
My son was looking at a product from TLC Animal Nutrition called Equi-Bone but the reviews that I read talk about navicular. And it is pricey, really pricey. |

I had a horse with thin soles. Just last month I tried anew supplement - Biostar. If you send an email she will give you suggestions on which supplements to try. I am using Optimum Sr. and Circuvate. I have only been on these supplements for 4 weeks when my barefoot trimmer came to trim. She couldn't believe the amount and quality of sole my horse had grown. He can walk comfortably on the caliche roads now where before he was very tender on the roads. |

Location: North Dakota | My horse had pads for 6ish months, then regular front shoes for a year or so after that, and crazy as it may sound, it fixed his thin soles! He no longer wears shoes and his hooves look and feel much better than ever before. |

He has been wearing the pads for about 6 months now. I probably need to have his feet x-rayed again to see if there is any improvement. |

Sure, it's BioStarUS.com. They have the contact email on their website, plus articles and the products listed. On a mare who periodically goes very sore on her front feet, but no laminitis, she gave several options to try. It may take a day for them to get back to you, but when they do it is with explainations for the reason they are recommending the products. |

Location: Gainesville, TX | My trainer recommended one to me that really seems to have made a difference to my mare in the last 60 or so days. She said it made a huge difference in her husband's roping horse who has always had bad feet--OE Neutraceuticals Hoof Evolution. It doesn't cost an arm and a leg either.

| If you don't want a feed through, or couple the feed through with a topical, use Durasole. I put it on my horses feet every 3-4 days or so and it has really helped to keep them from being sore until they they can GROW more sole. Hope that makes sense. Feed throughs take a LONG TIME to work. And pick one, they basically have all the same stuff in them Biotin and Methionine. All the same basically. |

| The one that worked with my gelding took less than 4 weeks to take effect and it was more for circulation. I didn't want to use a topical because I didn't like the chemicals they used. This horse does best on as natural products as I can find. The Circuvate increases the circulation, which is what I thought he needed. He has always been slighly inflammed above the coronary band and I just felt that it wasn't a nutritional thing with him as much as an inflammation thing. He also has mild allergies in the spring and a small spur on his hock so he has some inflammation throughout his body. Cur Ost products have helped him alot but there was still something missing. I think Circuvate maybe the missing link. |
