Just had my 11 year old x-rayed and her hocks are ~75% fused. Has anyone had success with a certain therapy or supplement that sped up the natural fusing process? I know that they may never fuse all the way but just wanting info on anything others have tried that they thought truly helped.

Supplements aren't going to help you.

Ride her hard and keep her working. OsPhos is probably something you want to look into.

Previcox can be a big help for pain maintenance.

Dr Hague in Edmond will communicate freely about hock X-rays if you're interested in surgical options.

I would inject them and just put steroid, no HA, in the joint and keep her in work.

I have a 13-year-old that has been fusing for a while now so I'm trying equibone (at the urging of a friend who has used it on her horses with success) to see if that helps his comfort level and increases the speed of the fusion process. I'm about 45 days into the first bag and they say you're supposed to feed it for at least five months. I honestly haven't been running him lately so I'm not sure how much it has helped yet. He does seem smoother loping around than he did before it though. I plan to get X-rays to see how much it has helped but probably need to feed it longer before I do that.
