| I have 2 ponies that are penned together, and due to one being foundered they only get grass hay. I occasionally let them out to eat grass for 20/30 min, but have to really limit their time out as they literally stuff their faces. I don't think they even pause for breath! Their coats are rough and not slick like they should be, I know ponies have different coats, but even last year they were slicker than this. They do NOT need more fat, just a higher protein/mineral content then what they are getting in the hay. They have mineral & salt blocks and are wormed regularly. Any suggestions what I could add? I was thinking a small mixture of whole flax and oats, but not sure that'll be enough? |

| I would do Platinum and due to their small size even the 10lb/$61 tub should last you forever. It has everything they need. |

| If they need protein and minerals they need alfalfa and minerals or a ration balancer. A small amount of fat won't make them gain weight, and will help the coat slick off. Say a 1/2 cup of rice bran, a cup of alfalfa pellets, and a tablespoon of loose minerals each. Or whatever you've got laying around for the big horses that would approximate that. |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | THE Performance Formula. I use Muscle Mass on my super old guy-40's. But I feel he can use the help in his topline. He has foundered in his younger yrs and all he gets fed is soaked alfalfa & beet pellets and 1 lb of Equine Active Senior am and pm . He's had this diet for roughly 3 yrs and looks amazing. He is about 650lbs or so, so you know his size. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | I have my Insulin Resistance gelding on Heiro supplement and I have my mini on it also, my mini foundered on mesquite beans about 3 years ago, so hes limited on grass along with my gelding, my gelding grass founder last years spring and their coats got rough and ugly thick after their problems started, I have them both on Intensify Ex-Factor feed by bluebonnet, the mini gets a cup of this feed twice a day along with their Herio in the mornings and they both get Sho-Glo mineral & vit supplement, and I also give them both magnesium once a day,,, and their coats shedded out and they are both glossy and dark, befor I started them on the Heiro and Ex-Factor they would not shed out and they both looked so wormy their hair was so dry and burnt looking but after I started them on my feeding plan they are both like wow looking. and they get hay all they can eat along with a flake of alfalfa but the mini only gets less then a half of flake of alfalfa. And maybe 2 or 3 times a week pasture for a few hours in the late evening..
