What to do with bleeders...

My good mare has recently bled through her Lasix, which has never happened. I give her 5cc of Lasix 2.5-3 hours out in the vein every run and also give her a breathing treatment 1-2 hours before we run. I was told to give her two weeks off for healing, then to bump her Lasix up to 7cc. I am curious to see what every one else does to help prevent this and/or what supplements y'all use for your bleeders. I am open to any and all suggestions to keep her going and feeling good!!

Mine bled through so my vet had me give him guanabenz -it helps lower the blood pressure which helps bleeders. He had not bled through since adding this. Throughout the years I have tried all kinds of supplements and yet to find one that worked.

RE: What to do with bleeders...
Location: Oklahoma
My good mare had done this but we discovered she had bled back
(without us knowing
) and had pnuemonia so it caused the severe bleed. Once we treated her with time off and antibiotics, we actually had her lungs stem celled. Since then she has run about 8 times
(had to take time off due to family, weather and a move
) but she has come back better than ever. I still run her on Lasix just to be safe but the vet had said we could try without lasix.
