We are thinking of heading to the All American this labor day. Where would be a good place to stay. We are probably looking at flying in on Sat and returning on Tues.

Is there anything else there besides the race track?

I'm assuming you are aware this is a small regional airport?

If there aren't hotels, it might be worth either staying in Alamogordo or even Las Cruces or El Paso. All are about an hour's drive. There are galleries, a few boutiques and some sights to see in Ruidoso, depends on what you are interested in. We've been to the futurity once, it's very crowded, was fun though.

No, I don't know anything about it. That's why I'm asking. Never been to NM at all.

Going to the AA is something I've always wanted to do. It works out that this might be the year.

I appreciate the info,

We can't find any airline that flies into Ruidoso. ElPaso is 130+ miles away.

Is there nothing closer?

The odds of finding a room in Riudosa this time of year and last minute are about as good as you getting hillary elected after the fact.

not going to happen

your best bet is to start trolling Social media and find someone that has reservations for a room or a house that has to cancel last minute.

Since I haven't attempted to get Hillary elected after the fact I wouldn't know how that works out.

Not do I understand even the mention of it.

As for hotels in Ruidso, I already have a room booked. So, it did happen. I was asking about airports. We can fly into Roswell but I'm looking for something closer.

You got any political humor to go with that?

Haha! Since you didn't offer your private plane up I went ahead and booked flights into Roswell. So we're all set. Flying into Roswell on Sat, the 2nd. Booked a rental to get us to Ruidoso and returning home on Tues.

And the best thing, I had enough VISA points to pay for it all, flights, room and the rental car.

We've had better luck renting condos. They are less expensive than motels in town. www.rentruidoso.com is where we found the one we rented for this yr. Also check vrbo.

Furturity weekend is really fun but just be prepared for it to be SUPER crowded. Get to the track early, parking is a nightmare. As far as other things to do Ruidoso is a great little town, there are lots of fun shops in the downtown area, great local restaurants (grill caliente, rio grande tap house, j Michaels, and Texas club just to name a few). Inn of the mountain gods sits on a beautiful lake and is worth the drive up for sunset, but again it will be SLAMMED crowded. Drive from Roswell is easy and thru the mountains for most of the way. Stop at Fox Cave just outside of ruidoso if you have the time. We go 2x a month for race season, but don't fight the crowds for the big holidays. :)
