OF COURSE none of my saddles fit hubby's new mule! Looking at getting him fitted for a saddle. Right now he has been riding in my Ammerman and McCall Saddle. Both pitch hubby forward- like the saddle is too wide up front- but they actually fit the mule halfway decent. So- Knowing my Hubby who likes well made things- But also acknowledging that he does not ride terribly often- The major use will be during Elk and Bear season- to ride in and then pack out... Taking him to Colorado Saddlery (with the Mule) to try on some of their Mule saddles... looking at $2k for a new one- but if he likes it- it would be money well spent. But also looking at the Corriente Mule Saddles- half the cost- and the Corrientes I've seen have been of decent quality- but would like some input. What say you girls of trail riding husbands? Any other ideas?

Tucker saddles are used a lot by trail riders and some hunters VERY comfy. Pricey though. Not the other end of the spectrum are the Wintech synthetic saddles. Also very comfy. Very reasonably priced

 I'd sure try a Corriente. We've had very good luck using flex tree saddles on the mules (Circle Y).  They're not cheap but they've worked well.

Any saddle maker will be able to build a saddle on a mule bar tree. Especailly with that price range.
In fact Teskey's has one in their ranch saddle seciton. Better leather than Corriente. ;
They can build any style saddle ona  mule bar tree for around the same price.
(I know I preach alot about Teskey's but I love that place!

Teskey's has a 10 day return policy. I use it all the time on used saddles. Get it in, sit it on Amos with no pad and snap pictures. Send them back to a saddle guy at Teskey's if you are unsure of fit and go from there. If it doesn't fit they will give you your money back and find you something that will fit him better. They have access to any tree and I'm sure they can find you something.
Amos is precious! I hope you find something that works. Be sure and update us with what you buy!

I just got off the phone with them... waiting to see if hubby wants to pull the trigger on it.  I talked to Corriente- and they dont offer any return policy and were a little abrupt to work with -  I am cool with the lack of a return policy but they told me that if I was worried about fit- then they would steer me away from their brand..... I thought that was odd.

I dont think it was odd, I'm impressed for the fact that they didnt try to sell you a saddle knowing that it may not fit a mule and that your better off finding someone that specialize's saddles for mules are something closer to the fit you need for mules.  I have bought a few saddles from Wayne and he was pretty easy to work with, but mules is a whole different fit.
