What do you do to help your older horses that have developed arthritis? Do you do anything pre-run that is not a daily thing?
(Like adequate/legend-etc
) What do you do for daily supportive stuff? Oral/injectable-etc.
My mare has possibly come back after 2 years off after she sustained a stifle injury and though she seems sound and happy as a lark I want to keep her that way. I'm sure that stifle is predisposed to arthritis now....
Thanks y'all

We have a 21 yr old that has arthritis due to age. We did a set of adequan and hes on daily cetyl m. A couple days before, the day of and the day after he gets equiox. That combo seems to be helping him a ton. Although one time we didnt give him equiox due to a last min race and he still ran and clocked better then usual.
(so not sure if its really helping
) Other then that hes on blue seal sentinel senior.

I'm starting my mare on a new regime of Adequan once a month and then Equioxx when she runs. I think I'm going to keep her on Tight Joints Plus as her daily feed through, at least for now because i already bought a new tub before I decided to start Adequan. I also cold hose or apply liniment after a work out to hocks and stifles. I have BOT hock boots but I'm not very good about using them religiously, mainly because I never stall her.

My good horse is 15 this year and was diagnost with artheritis in her knee this spring. I've had alot of sucess keeping her sound this summer with adequan, equioxx, BOT before runs and ice after runs and her knees were injected in the spring.

My 20 year old gelding gets pentosan. Loading dose then 2x a month during running season. He is fed Tribute essential k gc. Mostly he gets long trotted down the road 2-4 miles a day, and once a week or so we haul to an arena and lope.
(I have nowhere to ride
). I alternate between linaments and back on track. ALWAYS cold hose legs...always. He lives outside due to allergies, so he stays moving, which I feel like that makes a big difference too. He is the soundest horse I have ever rode!
