| A friend of my DIL rescued 7 small 5 week old puppies from a busy street. I took one and she took one, but I don't know what would be the best food to feed these little girls. Should we feed them soft food, dry food softened with milk/water, etc? |

| I would get some dry puppy chow and pour some hot water over it to soften. Try and stay away from milk. |

| I highly recommend calling a local veterinarian and asking them their recommendation! |

Location: Wonderful Wyoming | I've raised a ton of orphan kittens and I know they sell puppy milk replacer as well, I've seen it next to the kitten kind at the stores. I think it would be similar to kittens-maybe a heating pad in a corner of a box, puppy milk replacer and fresh water. |

I've used eggs before and Karo syrup also. Karo supposed to help if they have any upset bellies; from what I was told! |

At 5 weeks there should be some teeth. I agree with the puppy chow and warm water to soften it. I would also get some puppy wormer into them at this point. |

Karo is a life saver on kittens if they get Fading Kitten Syndrome. Bet it would work on a weak puppy too. I know I used it on my sick foal, Hawk. I added it to the mares milk to give him a boost. |

Location: Never in one place long | Thank you for saving them! I would also recommend taking to vet for basic health check and likely deworming if able. I would recommend a puppy food and maybe ask the vet on their recommendation.
also, if you're unable to keep them until adoption, I can try and recommend different rescues that take puppies so that they can be spayed/neutered, microchipped, fully vaccinated etc before being adopted or maybe you're doing all that I just thought I'd offer that info. :)
Thanks and good luck! they are lucky you found them! |

| Thank you for all the replies! I broke my phone and was out of pocket for a few days. Next week I will take them to the vet. We haven't had a small dog in a long time, so I am kinda excited about this little girl. I am hoping she will be a little travel buddy. |

I've used it several times with great results. Of course my first Husky became a syrup addict, and I swear I think he faked tummy aches |

Location: The best kept secret in TX | My little girl takes a spoonful of Karo when her tummy is upset. Better than giving her pepto. Pepto makes it worse for her because of all her health issues. Make sure you get the DARK Karo. She will come to me at night or after dinner and say: "Momma, I need A-Roe". |

| Puppy milk replacer or goats milk if you need to soften some food for them. Deworm every 2 weeks ASAP and first round of vaccinations at 6-8 weeks. |
