| Forgot to add PYC horses- my friend has a 2 year old Freighttrain B filly and she is one of the best minded horses I have seen. I met Second Painted Sign and he's great minded as well. Overall I hear great things about them.

We have a yearling filly. Not yet ready to ride but she sure is sweet as apple pie. She will come a mile across the pasture to say hello. |

I have a Playgun x Easy Jet gelding that is really quiet and willing...a little bit looky on the trail, but not spooky, he just rubber necks at everything, LOL. In the arena, he is all focus and he is so athletic and smart, he's only seen the barrel pattern less than 10 times and he's already figuring it out. He has really nice bone and conformation too. I wouldn't mind having more of them in the future bred this way.
I think the looky part is the cow bred in him, 4 of our 5 are cowbred and all of them are like this - not spooky but they are always very aware of their surroundings. Our 5th is also a bang up rope horse but cowy by training not breeding (all run ) and he is the quietest to ride out.
Very interesting, have had a couple of royally cow bred (the lenas and docs etc, not old quarter horse like king and driftwood) and they were both hot and looky, it would make riding really uncomfortable sometimes. One was a 1D horse and another a team penner. Sold them both as it got to the point where I didn't enjoy working them. Absolutely stunning conformation and athletisicm though.

Location: California | I had a Sun Frost horse that was extremely quiet and willing. Had a few quirks but he was amazing. I have since then ridden a few more and if I could afford to buy a barn full I would. Unfortunately, they seem to be 8-10k when they hit the ground from what I have found. |

I found a driftwood/sun frost bred filly a few years ago and I liked her so much I went back to the ranch and bought 2 more bred like her. Have enough fire/speed to catch cattle competitively (roping), ranch on them all day (they go anywhere), and put anyone on them. Can't have enough of these horses. We also have a 5 year old Lions Share of Fame son that fits your description. QUIET but has an engine for sure. Big and strong. Turned into my husbands main ranch mount. I don't think you could pry him out of his cold dead hands at this point. This really interests me. I have a Sunfrost/Driftwood gelding that is scared of everything and cannot focus away from home. He is just about to wear out my patience!
He is definitely "watchy", but he also will drop out from under you and wheel around while "watching". He also is scared of any type of ground change (like from dirt to grass, or dark to light, etc.). He is very strange. Very athletic, but so "watchy" he can't focus. Any suggestions? |

Location: Peg-Leg Julia Grimm | I have a 2 year old On A Gator o/o a Judge Cash daughter that is wonderful minded. Catches on quick and does whatever you want him to. I also have an Honors A Bounding o/o the same mare that is VERY quiet and willing. He loves attention and no drama.
ETA: My HAB, Captain Biankus crosses are nice as well.

Really?! I've only known 2 Bully Bullions (owned one) and both wanted to do everything their way, and with attitude. I didn't enjoy riding mine at all!!! He was Easy Jet on the bottom (and I generally love Easy Jet horses). |
