I met a lady at my trainer's house about a year ago. She was just starting to barrel race and wanted to learn how. She attended a couple of clinics. She has been doing so well. Gradually improving. We dream big around here and she entered the APHA World Show. She was Reserve World Champion in Novice Amateur Barrels Friday. Mary ran ran Saturday in the PBRIP Sweepstakes and was second in the 3D. I am so happy for her but as we talked yesterday I told her the best decision she ever made was to learn to run properly. She agreed. Mary is also 55 years old. Congrats Mary Hurlburt.

As we get older and sometimes we can afford those better horses than we could when we were working hard and raising our families. Good for her that she followed her dream and went about it about the right way.

Shewas riding a horse she bred, raised and trained.

Even better for her. A double win. At this point I would be happy just breeding a big time winner.
