I've never used a magic seat with my lesson kids before...interesting to see the mixed reviews on them! I just use one of my saddles and stirrup buddies like these: https://www.chicksaddlery.com/dude-style-childs-helper-stirrups?utm_...
This has always worked for me so far! One of the girls I'm giving lessons to is 4...and man can she pull on the reins! In my opinion, she is too young to be off the longe line or out of the roundpen (she's only had a few lessons also). But my guy is very soft, so I have him in a halter with reins attached. She still pulls more than hard enough...I wouldn't put a bit in his mouth anytime soon with her. But maybe that would be different if I had a real hard mouthed horse?
