Location: Somewhere around here | This is the first time I'd happened ever in my life, and I have no clue how to get rid of the smell. There's so many ideas on how to get rid of the smell I don't know what the best would be! I'd like to hear from you and what you've done in the past?? |

| Ugh... I remember when my two knuckleheads decided to chase a skunk. I let them in the house and immediately smelled that burnt rubber lol! I bought that skunk remover stuff from tsc ... it's a white bottle with red lettering. I hosed them off first, mind you one of my dogs is a chocolate lab so the water beads off him, it took a while! Then I doused them both in white vinegar and rubbed it into their coats... like most dogs that get nailed by a skunk, it was in their face and neck.. I removed their collars and just tossed them in the trash... after the vinegar rinse and I used the special soap... let that sit for about 15 minutes then rinsed.. then I used regular dawn dish soap, the blue, and scrubbed that into their coats... rinsed that off and finished with another dose of vinegar and left it on... dried them off and they spent the rest of the day drying off in the mud room. It was a nightmare!!! |

| Iβve had the best luck with baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dish soap. Itβll take a few washings but seems to be the best cheapest solution. Itβs getting the smell out of your nose thatβs the worse! Lol |

Location: KS | I just leave them outside, it happens several times a year around here. The smell eventually goes away. |

| I also had the best luck with this. Our Bull Mastiff got sprayed in the middle of the night and we had to stick her in the tub at 2am and wash her with this solution. We did washstand rinse her twice. Two adults and a bull mastiff in a small tub was quit comical. |

To add it was the peroxide soft soap and baking soda solution. I don't remember the ratio but you can google it. |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | I believe the product from TSC is called Skunk Off. It worked pretty well when my dog had her two different encounters. |

| I use a 50/50 blend of apple cider vinegar and water in a spray bottle. Give the dog a good spraying in the area where the skunk sprayed him. Might take a couple applications but it works great. Good luck! |

Location: in the ozone | Use the baking soda, peroxide & Dawn mixture BUT the key is to leave it on until it dries (it will get crispy). That is the stage that actually pulls the oil (and smell) of the skunk spray from the hair. Most people do not do this step & that is why it doesn't work as well. |
