Guess Im gonna get hubby one of these for Christmas. He has been wanting one for a long time. I keep putting him off bc I had one bout 15 years ago and it didn't work that great. But I'm sure they have gotten better. So which one should I get? The are different price range 39.00-169.00 and look almost the same. So are the cheaper ones any good? He cuts his own deer so this is the main reason he wants one. Please help! thanks

I have a Food Saver and love it! I’ve never used the adapter. But for sealing bags, it works AWESOME! I went with the mid range priced one.

We have a food saver as well! Not a terribly expensive one either. It has a mason jar port but didn’t come with the adapter and I’ve never worried about getting one.
We use it on a fairly regular basis, especially around late summer when the garden comes on. We can also order meat through my work but it comes packaged in bulk, so we split it out into smaller packs.
Could probably use it more than we do

Food Saver .... I have one with the portal adapter and have never used it. I am not a fan of all the bells and whistles ..... I use mine for meat. I will buy bulk ground beef, whole pork sirloins, whole beef sirloins, etc and then slice and seal into packages. I have had two. I broke part of the locking catch on the first one
(after 12 years of use
) but it still works if you hold it in. I bought my new one at an auction. It is a $100 model and I paid $30.

I have a $70 Food Saver. We package deer and elk with it. I accidently thawed out a package of deer meat from 2014 for supper.
(didn't know we had any that old!
) Thought what the heck, I will cook it. If it tastes crappy, we won't eat it. It tasted great, no freezer burn at all. Love our Food Saver.

I love my food saver. I have the bigger one so I can use 2 different size bags. I do a 5 cubic foot freezer full of fruits and veggies every year.
