How many of you have Auxiliary tanks on your pickups? I want to get a 50-60 gallon aux tank with a small tool box on top. I've heard the gravity feed ones mess with the computers on the newer pickups...

My questions are: what model tank did you chose and where did you find it? Did you have it plumbed with a pump/shutoff or do you ignore the pickup telling you that it's "not using fuel?"

Love mine and would never be without one again. It is a gravity fed tank and I’ve never had an issue and it’s in a new dodge. I would have to ask the hubby what brand etc. but love love it!

I have a 90 gallon auxiliary on the truck I pull with.  It has a pump that moves fuel from the aux tank to the regular tank.  Just flip the switch and watch the gauge come up on the reg tank.  I love being able to be gone for days and never having to pull into fuel up.  No more stopping at questionable places in the middle of the night!!

RDS is the most common brand.

Most of the new/newer trucks will initially freak out but they actually will relearn and eventually stop setting trouble codes.

Gravity feed is technically illegal but I've done it for years(as have tons of other folks ) and never had an issue.
