Location: Duvall, WA | I know we have discussed this before but nothing came up on search. I have always had Chevy's and had great luck with them but my husband has noted that at shows seems like way more people drive Fords. (Not interested in Ram.) We have a 13'LQ 4H. Are Ford's better trucks? Is a 450 significantly safer? We have lots of mountains and hills around here, I hate going down with the big rig. Suddenly Chevy's are actually less $ than the other two, but seem like very nice trucks. Anyone willing to share comparisons/experiences? Thanks.

Location: North Central Iowa Land of white frozen grass | Not much difference any more between Chevy and Ford. The 450's are going to ride rough empty up to a 350. 450 will have bigger brakes. |

Location: Tulsa, Ok | Had a 450. Now have a 350 and a 550. The suspension and rear end under the 450 and 550 is much bigger and stronger than the 350. The gearing is also different. Much more pulling and stopping power in the heavier truck. We pulled our Lqs trailer with the 350 for awhile after we got rid of the 450 and were never quite happy with it. Hence the reason we now pull with the 550. |

Location: Kansas | I remember going to the USTRC Finals in Oklahoma City. There was an ocean of trucks and trailers, probably 60% Fords. We always loved our Ford F-250's but glad we never needed anything bigger. |

The reason you see more Fords than Chevys is they don't make as many Chevy trucks. Its much easier to find a used Ford than Chevy for that same reason. |

I don't think that's it - I think it's due to more people KEEP their Chevys. There is something right now with the newer Ford trucks - some part that is recalled & if it puts your truck "down", you are going to be down for a long length of time since they can't get the part. As far as size of truck, you need to know the pinweight of your loaded trailer vs the payload of loaded truck. There is a guy on FB that recently spelled all that out (it's a truck and trailer review group) so that anyone can understand & figure out their rig. I guess more rigs are getting pulled over, checked and weighed & fined for being overweight. |

| I have had both Ford and Chevy. I would take either to haul a LQ with as long as it was the 450/4500. I didn't notice any difference in Ford or Chevy but did notice the difference in a 450 vs 350. |
