Anyone With A Mini Or Pony For A Companion? NEED HELP!

I recently got a mini as a companion for my barrel horse. He is a food hog and eats everything in sight as fast as he can, but my gelding is a slow eater. Also, my gelding gets grain and alfalfa/grass hay and the mini gets grass hay only.
Anyone know how to keep the mini from eating everything (including stuff he isn't supposed to have) before my gelding does? My gelding is a slow eater - even with his grain.
I'm pulling my hair out trying to come up with ideas.
HELP!!!!

Muzzle him until the gelding is done and then feed the pony.

What about feeding the mini some grass pellets while your horse is eating his grain.

Is the mini eating your horses feed out of your horses feed trough/feeder?
And the others are right, I would worry about founder if the mini is eating your horses feed. I have a mini also and when he got to have free run/roam of the pastures out here he founder himself on mesquite beans, so I have to be carefull also, he stays in a large pen with one of my geldings but he cant eat/reach the geldings feed.

I would separate the two when you feed. Mini’s do not need to eat much. Most people overfeed them, they become overweight, and then they founder.

They have very different nutritional needs than a full size horse.
