Location: the land of dust & sticks | anybody use them? Results? We clean our stalls daily, twice daily if horses are up overnight but still have a bad fly problem. From what I’ve read it says put them where manure is piled up, well obviously it doesn’t get piled up in barn and we spread it across pasture instead of having a manure pile.....So, would they work or not? I was thinking maybe if they were put in the stalls where the horses poop? Fly traps aren’t cheap and we put up atleast 1 per stall but then you have to replace or refill quite often. Thanks for the help! |

| I used fly predators last year - I only have 3 horses that are in stalls at night and out during the day. I donβt have a manure pile - just a dumpster that gets emptied once a week.
I donβt know how much the fly predators worked, but Iβm using them again this year. I just got my first shipment yesterday and Iβll spread them on Tuesday. I put about half around my barn and half around the pasture. |

Location: Freestone TX | I used them for many years when I ran a breeding operation and could have up to 20 head on 5 acres. I quit using fly spray on my horses when they were home. I only had to fix a bottle for when we were at an event. I would only see a few during the warm months. |

Location: Arkansas | Sean and I were associated with a therapeutic riding association that used them, and Debi (the director) loved them. We tried them on her recommendation, but I don't remember seeing a big difference. I will say that I don't think we were always on top of following the directions to a T! I've thought about trying them again because we will be adding another horse to our place soon, for a total of 6. |

| We used them last year. Had a very dry year last year so hard to say how much of our lack of flies was that and how much was fly predators.
Their website has some great tips for manure management as well. We have runs that we clean weekly or 2xβs a week with our skid loader and each time we clean we turn our pile over, which interrupts the breeding cycle. |

| I used them several years and they worked well for stable flies. I had several problems. The insects that bother my horses most are horn flies, mosquitos and buffalo gnats. The other problem that was major was that fireants loved them. Ants would eat them up before they had a chance to do their job. If you poison the fireants, you kill the fly predators. |

Location: Got Lobsta? | I use them every year, have a manure pile and at the time 4 -5 horses. It works great for the spring and summer. HOWEVER in the late summer when they are all under control, the farmer spreads manure in the fields that surround us, than all heck breaks lose. There's no controlling the flies. |

Location: SE KS | I have 6 horses on 10 acres, usually have 3 up during the day n 3 out!!! They worked well when put in the stalls & just outside in the runs where they poop!!! As well as putting them anywhere the horses like to poop. However, if they're are cattle next pasture over they will not work as well!!!!
I'm expecting my first shipment any time!!!! |

Location: North Dakota | I worked at a large animal clinic smack in the middle of town, next to a sales ring and they used fly predators all the time-seemed to make a difference. I have used them for quite a few years and then forgot to order them last year, but we were so dry the flies weren't too bad. I think I need to order another season worth since it looks like we might be in a "not so dry" cycle this year? |

Location: 31 lengths farms | I used them last year and to tell you the truth, I didnt' see that big of a difference in number of flies, but our neighbors across the creek have cows so there is that issue. The one thing I did see and my horses loved however was we did not have a Bot Fly issue this year. My one big mare loses her mind with Bot flies, so nice to come into the yard in late September to October and not see her running and kicking and dripping sweat from fighting the darn things. I'm on the fence about using them this year but I better make up my mind soon. |

Location: Where the long tails flow, ND | Yep, they work! We put them in the stalls when the horses are outside for the day and they do, do their jobs! We also have a manure pile in the back and put them there as well. We have netting up by the front door of the barn -- that combo and we rarely have flies inside or around the dry lot in the back.

Location: Do I hear Banjos? | Well...I'm trying them this year. When you look at the cost of the fly spray...that doesn't last more than a couple of hours...compared to the cost for these per month for 4 horses and I'm thinking it's worth a shot. I went with Spalding.
We have only a couple of mules for neighbors and I may just increase my allotment and treat their field also. Everything else around us is national forest. So...I'm hopeful we can make a difference. |
