What is an average shipping cost for a saddle? I know the distance will make a big difference.

$20-$80 is what I’ve had lately - distance being the difference. I live in Iowa, sent one to Illinois and it was just $20 through a regional currier. $80 I was sending it to one of the coasts, including insurance.

Most fit well in a heavy duty moving box from Walmart or Home Depot which usually measure 18x18x24 (I like a saddle to be snug in the box, and I feel that’s still an easier size for handlers to move around as opposed to some of the huge boxes, wrap the horn well as the leather is very thin), use UPS’s online calculator with zip codes and it’ll be fairly close.

I shipped a saddle a few years ago through UPS. It cost about $100.

I shipped a couple saddles last year through a local delivery company. I can’t quite remember now but I know it was $40 or less.

So it depends who you ship through! I go a place that searches several companies for me and lets me know which one is the cheapest.

For me, I can't ship one less than $125 with insurance through UPS.  The most expensive one has been $165 to ship.  I'm in NE Texas.  I won't ship USPS, as they are not great about honoring their insurance if the package is lost.  It's UPS or FedEx only, and be sure to ALWAYS get insurance on your package.  It's not fun when they lose one.

I just shipped a treeless weighing 25 pounds including packaging and box for $42 through UPS. The website quoted me $35 even putting in 35 pounds.
Some zip codes I put in ranged from $65-80

I'm in northwest Washington and it is about $100-120 to ship to Oklahoma and continues to go up as you go East.  I shipped a saddle last fall to central Oregon and it was $40.  It truly just depends on the location.
