Can't see the picture, but here is what I was taught on dry spots. If they are the size of the palm of your hand or BIGGER, and even on both sides your FINE. Its when you get spots on one side and not the other, OR really small dry spots that indicate pressure points etc. Hope that helps!

Yeah I can’t get the effing pics to load even after resizing them on paint.

Theyre a good size, maybe maybe 2-3 of my hands put together. Even on both side. I’ve used a 5 Star and a csi pad and the spots stay the same.

Edit my post: I was thinking white spots not dry spots . I still think there is alot of pressure from the saddle that is causing dry spots, your saddle is to tight or your pad is to thick causing your saddle to be to tight. How thick are your saddle pads?

Your good then, 5 stars actually pull heat and moisture away from the horses back so if your seeing big old dry spots sounds like your just fine! After you ride or even before you ride, run your fingers down your horses spine and check for soreness. If they are sore they will tell you. And if they are sore, doesn't always mean its saddle fit, sometimes they get sore from use, or needing a chiro adjustment

I am dealing with the same issue. I have a wide backed mutton withered mare that gets these large dry spots with hair rubbing. Called Three Forks saddlery and was told to go down in pad thickness...1/2 inch felt (basically a liner) over a navajo. Trying it now. I am also looking at a CorrecTOR pad. Trying one to see if it helps. Following this thread for ideas.

What thickness are your pads? Pads can really make a difference in how a saddle will fit your horse.  I'm guessing your pads are thick?
