Good Quality?

Medium Quality?

Lower Quality?

My family is trailer hunting. Tell me your favorite or not so favorite brands. Feel free to share the why as well.

You're going to get TONS of opinions...but here is my two cents. And they kinda are grouped on price point also.

I personally have a new Sundowner; love it; suits my needs, didn't break the bank. Bison and Exiss are cheaply made, IMO; interior looks cheap and know several people who have had leaking issues. They aren't built tight.

TOP
Elite
Platinum
Bloomer
Twister
Logan

MIDDLE
Lakota
Sundowner
4STAR
Featherlite
Shadow
Sierra

LOW
Bison
Exiss

C&C, Platinum, Elite, 4 star, Cimmeron

Twister, Bloomer

I hate the doors on Sundowners, but they are ok trailers. Sooner, Keifer

Featherlite, Lakota, Merhow, exiss, Logan, bison

Really and truly I probably wouldn't buy anything that's not in the first 4. We have had a couple of Sundowners and I don't think I'd buy another. I'm kind of snob when it comes to trailers. I don't care on age...brand is more important. C&C and Platinum are my favorite and what I own now. My C&C is 18 years old and its held up to the best of them.

I guess it depends on what you’re looking for as far as amenities, price point, function, quality, etc.

We have a Lakota, it’s our first LQ, so I can’t very well compare it (for personal use) to other brands. For us, it’s been wonderful. 9’ short wall. Sleep three of us, hubby, daughter and I, quite comfortably most of the time. If going for multiple nights, it can seem a little tight because our daughter sleeps on the pull out couch, and when I have to be up early, she’s smack dab in the center of the room. We should’ve gone with a slide out.

Other than that, no real complaints. Everything works well. Never any leaks. It’s comfortable. Maybe should’ve gone with the bigger fridge. An oven would be nice... but it’s a trailer, so it’s to be expected.

Some brands it also depends on if you are shopping new or used.
I know newer Exiss have a bad reputation, but I have a 98 aluminum stock combo that is made extremely well. It is 20 years old and is just starting to have some leaking issues around the tack area windows and door...I think it just needs new rubber or something.
But the trailer itself should last many more years and is solid.

My mom also has an old Sooner (99) that structurally is in excellent shape, but like ours needs all the rubber parts replaced.

My in-laws have a Keifer that is half the age of my trailer and is literally falling apart...I don't feel safe putting my horses in it and haven't since I noticed a cracked weld in the frame years ago-they continue to use it though.

I have been looking into a new bumper pull and like the looks of the Logan online, haven't seen one in person though.

If money wasn't a question I would go with Elite or Platinum, and when I do really shop to purchase, I will certainly look for used trailers in those 2 brands.

Everyone I know that has had Logan trailers says they are junk. Someone local had one and we noticed they had a brand new Elite about a year later. My BF asked him about and he said he had to trade it because something was falling apart or coming apart. Maybe with the slide? I don't quite remember exactly, but they are no good. Your money will be better spent elsewhere. I got a great deal on a platinum bumper pull. I know I see tons of 4 star bumper pulls for very reasonable. They don't loose their value either. Shop around!

I agree with Platinum & Elite, as far as being still in production, I think they are the best made trailers. I was looking at a new 4star the other day that came up on Facebook and they have started using plastic latches and such. No bueno.

We have a 3H Sooner LQ with slide out, and so far it has been an amazing trailer! we absolutely love it!

For local/one day barrel races we bought this past Friday a Merhow 3H goose neck trailer and wow! it looks awesome and very well built! We shall see how it does! God knows we use and abuse our trailers! LOL

Thanks for the input!
I haven't ever been up close and personal with a Logan to even have an UNeducated idea lol.
