| Go to your vet and get a Prescription for a Bronchodilator and steroid inhalers. Supplements are a band aid. Albuterol and itrapropium bromide inhalers are cheap. They open the air ways. After your give them follow with a steroid inhaler like a fluticasone inhaler. That will stop the inflammation caused by the pollen. You do it daily for a week then every other day until the pollen subsides. |

Yes regular mustard helps coughing.
clenbuterol compounded and trade named ventipulmin is the best broncodilator because it doesn't require anything but an oral syringe administered once daily, every other day, or pre-ride/run so it's quick and easy.
if you really wanna buy some respiratory therapy equipment don't waste money on an equi resp, they are a hassle you must find an outlet to use and they do not clean as easily plus you gotta babysit them the whole time b/c they love to pop the hoses off. Get you a flex nub, less sterile cleaning worries, no plug in required, and you can leave them cross tied with it on without having to hold them.
Like someone else said get a script for a bronco dilator like liquid albuterol, in the flex nub is a good combo.
Remember any clenbuterol has steroid action and will increase sweating, heart rate, and make them very frisky |

I have been giving 30cc's before exercising or running at this point. He manages to spit a little out but he actually likes the mustard now. lol. It has really seemed to help for the time being so I will continue until other wise. |

I had one horse that LOVED mustard! He would lick and lick that bucket until he could lick no more. LOL His bucket always smelled like Mustard so thats probably why. lol Have not tried it on any other horses. My vet actually makes up her own little concoction oral syrup. Not sure whats in it, but you give 1 ounce 4 hours before a run and 1/2 ounce 30 minutes prior. Pretty amazing stuff. |

Im pretty positive mine would eat it in his feed because he looks for the syringe now. Its quite funny! If you ever find out what that concoction is made up of, please PM me! |

Location: Wyoming | Ventipulmin and Dex if it is allergies. Your vet would be able to give you a regimen to follow for these. Clear it up once and don't mess with is again. |

Location: MN | Ok. I thought we were getting better. Last night, I ponied him to keep him out of the dust and he coughed pretty hard about 6 times. After he was done, he didnt cough again and he wasnt super winded after 15 minutes of long trotting. After 2-3 minutes he was back to breathing normal. Just yesterday, we did our regular 20-ish min routine and zero coughs what so ever. So frustrating!!! We do have these stupid white floaty things in the air right now coming from the pine trees. They were thick yesterday!
After a lot of reading - Should I have him scoped or do a BAL? Both? I want to get the most bang for my money here. What will tell me more? Is there anything else I should ask my vet to look for/at? |
