Polyglycon and Legend question.

I am sure this has been discussed a ton of times. I resisted Poly for a long time but eventually was away at a show and the horse needed something and Polyglycan was what the vet recommended. It was amazing how much it seemed to help the mare.
5 years later and older, I have been advised to try Legend. It is a lot more expensive but I am willing if it has a benefit.
The mare is still winning at a very high level but not running as much to manage her runs.
How often do yall give Legends, and or Poly? Are they ever used together? I am just starting research and I will go do a search, just always get good information from experienced people here.

I use both on the advice of my vet. Here is why. Legend only lasts in a horses system for about 12 hours. Poly lasts at least a week but usually 2 weeks and possibly more. My horses get poly once a month and legend about 8 hours before a run if they need more joint support. If itβs a night race , they get legend that morning. If itβs a morning race , night before. Hope that helps.

Yes, Thank you, thats pretty much what I'm looking for. I have a wonderful vet for regular issues and he referrs us to another vet for more complicated issues. They usually work together and share information.
Special vet recommends Poly and we have seen AMAZING results over 5 years. Regular Vet won't prescribe it because it is technically used off lable. He doesn't sell anything used off lable, or made in China OR reformulated, for get what you call that. I respect him for that. He recomended Legend which I have read a lot about over the years but seemed price prohibitive for us.
So right now we have both in the fridge but curious on which to use. This answer helps a lot. Thank you
