I’m at my wits end. My 4 year olds eyes are really sensitive to flys. Left eye in particular for some reason. I pile on the fly spray and it works , but he needs to keep his fly mask on. After I put it on, lasts about 15 minutes. Lol today I’m trying a smaller size to hopefully not give him enough to rub it off. I spray veteicyn eye stuff in there to. But left side gets more sore than right and waters more. Any ideas?

Try the new lycra ones made by professional choice. I love them! They fit snug like a hidez mask but have the ear and eye mesh.

My gelding takes his off every day. I still put it on every morning. OCCASIONALLY he’ll keep it on all day. What about applying swat cream around the eyes?

I make sure my horse's fly mask is snug and I hook the strap underneath their halter...Only using the halter and fly mask when they are out in the pasture and there isn't anything they can hook the halter or fly mask on to get caught on. ;-)

I will never leave a halter on a horse. Lol they have feet and always able to get hung up. I’ve seen some nasty wrecks.

yep I seen one that hooked their shoe on the halter while scatching their head with a back hoof. Was a scary thing, good thing we were standing not to far away at the time

I would go a size down with the Lycra one from Pro Choice, I got the horse size and it was to big for my 4 year old fillies head she rubbed it right off LOL!! I love the concept though, I just need to get a smaller size! PS She is a running bred quarter horse with an average size head...

If your horse has a decent mane, take something (a piece of baling twine, rubber band, etc.) and attach it to the part of the flymask that goes behind the ears. Then braid a front section of their mane and tie the flymask to the braid with the other end of the twine or rubber band. This works great on my mini who has tiny short ears and is hard to keep a mask on.

Is it a Cashel Crusader?  Mine has the hole for the forelock but she must rub it just enough for one ear to come out.
