What are SOLID 2D horses really going for right now?

more info:
Local 2D big show 3D. Will sometimes bump up a division when he makes a run. Our local shows are fairly competitive

9, buckskin, 15.2, more of a free runner than push style, Doesn't hit many barrels, only vice is that when hauled he gets nervous when you take hauling buddy away, maintenance: SI & stifle injections once a year, adequan, ulcer preventative when hauling.

located in Georgia

I've seen some priced from $12K to $15K.......I guess it depends.....if you find the right buyer and if the horse is truly a 2D....which a truly 2D will go for much more IMO...most use the "big" shows to determine D...

What do most consider big shows? 3-400 entries? Or only shows like Diamonds and Dirt, Mega, BBR finals?

Really depends. I'd say starting at $10,000 and up from there.

For example, if the horse is apropriate for a kid, then it might be a bit more value than one that needs an experienced rider.

Out in this area we consider big show to be about 400- 800 riders.

This particular horse ran in the bottom of the 2D at the WBRL world finals last year. Right at 900 riders I believe. Also placed in the 3d at the No Bull finale with around 800 riders. So hes pretty solid and consistent 1d/SOLID 2D local, and big show 3D

Well, in the Midwest by me, I've had my eyes on a mare since this spring who is 2D against American Qualifiers and placed in the 2D at 200-300 entries..they have her priced at 30K and right now not willing to budge :( She's out of a top sire I guess that doesn't help the cost from coming down either. 8yrs old. Is a bleeder.

This..........so I would say this horse is more of a solid 3D...........a true 1/2 second off the top horses will bring much more imo..........

The stifle injections at 9 would scare me. That Lowers the price a lot. (For me) plus si injections which can stem from the bad stifles. Plus it’s a gelding, if he’s hurt or gets hurt no resale value. If he was solid 2D honest, push button, kid safe he mayyyyyyy be $7500 - 10k here.

3D at big shows would bump him down to $15,000-20,000. If he ran 2D at big races I would say $25,000-65,000. I actually know of one that just sold for $65,000 and he is not consistent.

Didn't this horse run at the bottom of the 1-D at the Presidents Cup last year?
