Looking for some info on a few bloodlines and what they are typically like - Racin Free, Tinys Gay, On a High, and Sir Alibi.

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

On A High is a great broodmare sire. Most of those are starting to get far enough back (only see a few horses out of daughters of those horses named) that you can't judge that horse for the behavior of the one you are looking at/riding.

They are 3rd generation (parents grandparents)on the mare I am looking at :) so I'm sure they will be a bit diluted, but just looking for a general idea. Thanks!

All are very desirable bloodlines for barrel horses. No cowhorse lines there so I guess it depends on what you are looking for.

I want to hear about the Bayou horsesΒ

Do you mean Billy Billy Bayou? I've rode a granddaughter and been around some grandget over the years. Maybe an own son that a friend ran at high school rodeos. The only ones I saw other people ride were pretty tough to beat.

The granddaughter had an injury as a baby on a front foot and got a really late start (end of her four year old year). I felt like she didn't really try to help much, she did exactly what she was told. I'm pretty critical of her but you could run a set of barrels, rope on her, and let a kid ride her so obviously she isn't junk just not that extra spark to make her great. The only real hole is she had a tendency to not stop until you asked her when heeling and she had on more than one occasion broke completely in to when she got her front feet in the loop. Can't blame her for it but she also never helped you to prevent that situation. I probably could go to roping calves on her and get her short going to a cow and that would help but since I don't love her, why bother? Conformation wise she is really really nice, scar on front coronet band but that wasn't anything she could help. Good to handle a little quirky but a lot of that came from her mother.
