| Had a couple tornadoes go through this afternoon. Relatively minor damage NE of Des Moines where it started. Vermeer manufacturing in Pella, IA took a direct hit - dozens of ambulances and multiple life flights on site. Marshalltown, IA in north central part of the state also had what the radio was called a “very large” tornado go right through town.
We were very blessed, my husband and FIL saw the one that hit Vermeer come down just NW of us and go back up. He told me to stay at work about 6 miles south. We have signs of rotation and several trees took damage, but we are blessed.

| It is surreal driving around how lucky we got - we aren’t sure if it was the same one that hit Vermeer or a different one that dropped down, but it’s like it skipped across the ground like a rock on water - you can trace the path with a shed here, a barn, there some corn down about 400 yards east of my house, almost a perfect circle with a tail where it tried to stay down...
Just surreal. |

Location: Displaced Iowegian | Many prayers for Iowa ..... it looks like it made a path down through the state ..... Bondurant, Marshalltown, Pella, Keosauqua, Farmington and probably more..... prayers that those who are injured will recover. Thankfully, my friends across the state have escaped the devastation. |

| Amazingly it sounds as though there are no casualties and only minor injuries!!! I never would have thought that given the pictures. They had a customer appreciation day going on as well, major props to everyone for getting folks who didn’t know procedures to a safe place!!! |
