Location: Gainesville, TX | This is what he posted for us today; it's been ten years. He still makes me smile and treats me like a queen!
On November 3, 2007 Karen and I had our first date.
On November 4th, she called to chew me out for not telling her November 3rd is my birthday.
On December 24th, 2007 Karen’s dad & I took a long awkward drive to the liquor store where I asked permission to marry her. I figured if it went well we celebrate. If it went bad we drink enough to forget it happened.
Sometime in early February I was informed that a deposit had been made on a venue for the wedding.
On August 16th, 2008 Karen & I were married. We honeymooned at orientation of our respective graduate programs at Texas Tech.
Since then we have survived an MBA program, a PhD program, a JD program, a recession, 8 years of Obama, 1.5 years of Trump, a little whisky, a lot of wine, building a horse breeding program, 5 moves, and the prettiest little girl in the world.
It hasn’t always been easy but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

We met while I was at Baylor. He had just finished up at Tarleton. We went to Tech together literally 48 hours after our wedding. He started his MBA and I started my PhD. Later we moved down to the Fort Worth area for him to do his JD at what is now Texas A&M Law School and was Texas Wesleyan at the time. |
